    Forest Park School is a visionary new primary school in Hampshire for children with learning difficulties.  Designed by Hampshire County Council’s in-house architects and constructed by Morgan Sindall, the new building has created an inspirational child-centred facility which has now been acclaimed with a series of awards and accolades.

    Orkla ASA and Norsk Hydro ASA have agreed to combine the aluminium extrusion business of Sapa and Hydro’s Extruded Products, creating a world leading supplier of extruded aluminium solutions. The company will be a 50/50 joint venture owned by Orkla and Hydro, and called Sapa, with its headquarters in Oslo.

    Curtain walling from architectural aluminium system specialists, Technal, has helped to create a highly visible new gateway and transport hub for the Berkshire town of Slough.

    Designed by Bblur Architecture and built by McLaren Construction, Slough Bus Station is a bold new transport interchange that links the railway station and bus passengers to the town centre, replacing its infamous Brunel-designed bus station. It provides safe, enjoyable and efficient facilities and a new route into the main shopping areas, joining the north and south of the town which had long been separated by the A4 trunk road.

    The new MODAL low rise façade system from architectural aluminium glazing specialist, Technal, has received a European patent for its innovative and technically advanced design.

    MODAL uses a completely unique modular framing system which gives specifiers the widest choice of configuration options currently available for low rise façades. It also radically reduces work on site – the framing modules are fully fabricated and assembled in the factory for better quality control, rapid installation and on-site glazing.

    A new sustainable leisure complex in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France is showcasing a range of façade options created using Technal’s Geode-MX aluminium curtain walling suite.

    The Balneoludique de Gruissan swimming pool and spa complex is a 2,000sqm scheme located in a spectacular marine environment.  The new facility is designed by architects Chabanne & Partners to blend into the surrounding beach and pine forest and to offer protection from the prevailing north east winds.  It has created a series of intimate leisure spaces for the building users split into three zones – sport, relaxation and wellness.

    Architectural aluminium systems specialist, Technal, has announced new thermal performance data for its FXi65 casement window system, which exceed Building Regulations requirements.

    The new figures demonstrate that even with a 24mm double glazed unit, a Uw value of 1.4w/m²K can be achieved. This is significantly below Building Regulations requirements but is a specification often requested by architects and contractors.
